Urethral "Safety Pins"Clinical History: 8 year old boy with menta retardation presented with pain and burning during micturition. Urethral foreign bodies were removed by endoscopy. Findings: Multiple metallic foreign bodies overlying the penile shadow with "safety pin" configuration. Diagnosis: Urethral foreign bodies Discussion: Urethral foreign bodies are rare. Most cases are associated with psychiatric disorders, senility, intoxication, or autoerotic stimulation.They may be detected by ultrasound of the penile urethra or by plain radiography.
