EndometriomaClinical History: 24-year-old female with right lower quadrant pain. Findings: Figure 1. Power Doppler image of the right adnexa demonstrates a right adnexal cystic lesion with difuse low level echoes , and absent internal vasculairty. Figure 2. Diagnosis: Endometrioma Discussion: Endometriosis is the presence of functional endometrial tissue outside the uterine cavity and the myometrium. It is an important cause of infertility and pelvic pain in women older than 25 years. Endometriomas are relatively common and can mimic other adnexal masses, and ultrasonography is often the first choice of imaging. References / Suggested Reading: 1.
